National Tutoring Programme
What is the National tutoring Programme?
The National Tutoring Programme (NTP) is a Government-funded initiative to provide catch-up tuition for children across Primary, Secondary, Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Alternative Provision, whose education has been affected by COVID-19.
The tuition is focussed on core subjects English, maths and science and are in small groups ranging from 1:1 to 1:6. All tutors are fully vetted with valid DBS. Tutors work closely with class teachers to ensure the tuition is tailored around the student’s needs.
The CatchUp Academy is an Approved Partner for the NTP and is currently working with the DFE to provide tutors to schools.

Previously subsidy payments were made directly to NTP partners by the DfE. This has now changed and for the 2022-2023 academic year funding will be paid directly to schools.
60% of the tuition cost will be subsidised by DfE, subject to the information set out in Funding and paying for tutoring.
Schools are required to meet the remaining cost using other funding sources, including pupil premium or other core school budgets.
Tutoring is an effective use of pupil premium and is included in the pupil premium menu of approaches in the guidance for school leaders.
How the NTP works for you
Schools get subsidised one-to-one and small group tuition programmes through accredited partners that attract a 60% subsidy. Each student is allowed up to 15 hours of catch-up tuition which is delivered during school hours, after school or at weekends.
With a focus on:
Primary Schools – Across KS1 and KS2 centering on numeracy and literacy.
Secondary Schools – Across KS3 and KS4 centering on core subjects of English, maths and science, as well as humanities and languages.
SEN Schools – 1:1 sessions across all abilities.
